Last Night Showdown!

The last Friday night fixtures take place with plenty at stake in Division Two.

Three teams are separated by a single point as they look to earn the two spots for promotion to Division One. Horsehay B are top currently by a point and host St Georges A in 5th, a fixture that was the last one last season and saw a Horsehay win that relegated both teams. Wrockwardine Wood B and Sinclair B are a point behind but both with a better aggregate. Wrockwardine travel to Bridgnorth A who are currently second bottom, level on points with Broseley A, with both teams knowing they need a win for differing reasons. Sinclair B host Bowring B who aren’t completely safe but know it would be unlikely for them to finish bottom two as they have a 10 point buffer over the bottom two. Broseley A host Edgmond A with a 9-4 win meaning they will be safe and 5 winners for Edgmond means they are safe. Albrighton Harriers are 3 ahead of Broseley A and Bridgnorth A and travel to Newport B needing to be within 3 points of those two team’s results to survive. Bylet A are bottom but could stay up with a 13-0 win over Allscott Heath B and Broseley and Bridgnorth both getting no winners and overturning at least a 255 difference in aggregate, highly improbable.

Division Three has seen Shifnal B crowned Champions already, congratulations to them, but second place is still up for grabs. Donnington Wood B need 7 points away at third bottom Sir John Bayley C to earn that, with Newport C and Charlton A still able to overturn them with big wins at Bowring C and at home to Stockton respectively.

Congratulations to Sinclair A for winning Division One for the second successive season. Newport A sit second and Shifnal A third in the remaining prize money positions, although Bowring A could overhaul Newport with a 12-1 home win over them. Madeley CC A and Sir John Bayley B will be relegated.
