Monday Merit

Finals:

Martin Beddow won the 2025 Monday Night Merit after beating Lee Taylor 8 in the final. From 10-5 up he went 18-5 ahead in the corners and held on to win 8.

In the Semi Finals Martin beat Trish Bradburn 14 after going 11-4 up, while Lee Taylor held off a fightback from Stuart James after being 16-6 up when Stuart got back to 19 across, but Lee kept his nerve to win 19.

Quarter Finals:

Lee Taylor was 14-9 and 17-13 up on Phil Atkins and won 15.

Stuart James raced 17-5 up on Jamie Pritchard and despite Jamie getting back to 17-13 he ran out.

Martin Beddow was 6-0 and 9-7 down but went 15-9 up on Leila James and won 17.

Trish Bradburn was only 11-10 up on Steve Hendy but then went 16-11 up and won 14.

1st Round:

Lee Taylor went from 8-5 down to 13-8 up, but Mike Briscoe came back to lead 15-14. Lee then went 20-15 up and won 18.

Phil Atkins was 14-5 up on Sue Humphries from 5-2 down. He was 18-11 ahead before Sue got back to trail 18-17, however Phil won 18.

Jamie Pritchard went 10-4 up and from 13-9 ahead won 10.

Leila James was 15-7 up on Dagan Jaggs and won 11.

Steve Hendy was only 13-10 up on Mick Furness but only conceded one more double.

Martin Beddow was 8-6 down to Des Conneelly but then went 15-10 up. Des got back to 16 across but Martin won 17.

Trish Bradburn was 19-13 down to Matt Gill but won 20.

Qualifiers:

Broseley

Former runner up Steve Hendy qualified after beating Bowring team mate Carol Faulkner 10 and Steve Watkins 9. Sue Humphries had to beat her husband Mike Humphries 14 in the qualifier after beating Matt Parton 7. Lee Taylor qualified after defeating Mick Davies 17 and Craig Christie 19, with the other qualifier being Mick Furness, who got past Chris Taylor 19 and Stuart Beddoes 5.

Shifnal

Trish Bradburn got through after beating Helen Wilkes 5 and Ann Rawlins 14, while John Roberts Snr got past Roger Chapman 9 and Alex Hart 10. Mike Briscoe got through by beating Vinny Kirkland 12 and John Langham 19, and Phil Atkins qualified by beating Ian Halford 5 and Bob Kendall 14.

Stockton

Dagan Jaggs defeated the holder Mick Jones 19 in the qualifier after beating Chris Edwards 17, while County Junior Jamie Pritchard got past Bryn Binsley 13 and Brian Jacques 15. The James family had Stuart and Leila qualify beating Harris Needham 20 and Paul Kalinauckas 18 and John Wright 14 and Sam Simmonds 7 respectively.

Wrockwardine Wood

Martin Beddow was the only one to have to beat three players to get through after defeating Emma Hayward 4, Dave Dudley 9 and Stefan Whitehouse 15. Des Conneely got through again by beating Lucy Hireson 11 and Stuart Sutherland 20. Matt Gill comfortably qualified after beating Keane Sutherland 7 and Gregg Corbett 10, while Natasha Sutherland beat Cameron Murphy 6 and Colin Petitt 17 to earn her place on finals day.
