John Potter qualified once again as he beat Phil Wain 12, Karen Smith 17 and Al Jarvis 16. Ellis Griffiths might be the youngest ever qualifier for this competition at 14 years of age, he defeated Ali Cotton 10, Helen Clee 17 and Paul Beer 11.
