Shifnal C won the Ashton Shield for the first time by 29 over Sinclair C at Newport. They were never behind after Christopher Williams won 9, with two more winners meaning they led by 9 overall despite Mick Kinsey winning 15 for Sinclair. Although Graham Deakin getting 18 from 17-0 and 20-4 down, Paul Bissett won 5 to extend their lead to 23 off 8 and the game was won.
