Wrockwardine Wood is again the centre of attention in Mid Shropshire land on Saturday (May 16th) with a double header of League competitions.
The Under-25 Merit starts at 10am with entries (£5) taken on the day – and that’s followed by the Over-60s Merit from2pm, and again bowlers can enter on the day.
The club’s No.1 green was the scene of the Shropshire veterans inter-league championship semi-finals and final last weekend when Premier Blue made off with the Derek Wright Shield.
Beaten in the 2025 final by Mid Shropshire A due to the handicap after the scores were level, Mark Thomas’s side beat North Shropshire in the vital clash by winning all six games for a 29 shot margin.
They had avenged last year’s final result by beating Mid Shropshire A by 13 with five winners in the semi-finals.
Mid Shropshire A came through as the best of the runners up from the 3 round robin groups courtesy of a 40 shot victory over Tanners Shropshire A in their first game at Bowring.
Mid Shropshire C won their first two games on Wood No.2, beating Premier Yellow, but lost out to North Shropshire B in the winner takes all final match.
Back at Bowring, Mid Shropshire B paid for a 5 chalk loss North Shropshire A.
