The record breaking Monday Night Merit Finals concludes tonight with 15 players looking to be the third winner of this competition.
Steve Hendy is the only former finalist in the field, and he has Mick Furness first round, who reached the Semi Finals last season. Des Conneely also qualified last season, and plays Martin Beddow, who is the only player to have played three games to get here. Leila James qualified in 2023 and plays Dagan Jaggs of Donnington Wood. Degan’s team mate Phil Atkins plays Sue Humphries, who had to beat her husband Mike to qualify. Lee Taylor is a former Junior County player and has Mike Briscoe of Sir John Bayley. Trish Bradburn is hoping to follow in her husband Roy’s shoes and win this like he did the Over 60s earlier this season. She plays Matt Gill from Shifnal first game. Jamie Pritchard is the first Junior to qualify in this, and plays Natasha Sutherland of Donnington first game. Stuart James has a bye as John Roberts is unable to play.

Albrighton’s bar will be open, as well as providing hot food and a buffet later on for us.
