The 2026 Harris Cup features two non Telford or Mid Shropshire Friday or Monday teams for potentially the first time on Bowring no.2 flat green at 7 p.m. Castlefields though have won this before, 3 times in 1997, 1998 and 2000, while Wem have reached the Semi Finals the last two seasons. They both name strong line ups, although the Fields are missing key man and County Merit winner Rich Goddard who is at the Autumn Waterloo. But they have their three Champion of Champion winners in their side, Mike Beer, Ash Wellings and Callum Wraight, as well as former Ladies All England winner Sally King and Autumn Waterloo winner Jon Palmer. Wem have Shropshire reserves Luke Boniface and Colin Smith in their side along with former Bowring player Phil Jones and Ladies County player Sarah Weaver, who leads the line in the Ladies County Final the following weekend.

The Harris Shield final at 6.30 p.m. on the Bowring no.1 hump green is another Division One versus Two affair like last year but this one is set to be closer. Wrockwardine Wood B contain 9 of the 10 players who won the Ashton Cup last Saturday, with Tony Farr in for Liam Bremner the only change. They will be the underdogs this time as they have an 12 shot advantage on the handicap against Trench A, who are in their first Harris Shield Final. Jayne Craggs is another player taking part in the Ladies County Final next week, with her husband leading the line against Junior County player Rowan Fuller in what promises to be a thrilling opener. New signings Jamie Millman, Will O’Hara and Dave Clayton are all in the side as they look for silverware in their first year.
