The holders of the main team knockout for sides in the League’s Monday night divisions are back to try and retain the trophy at Newport tonight – Saturday 5th September.
But Wrockwardine Wood C, who are also top of division 4, face a mighty big challenge on the No. 1 green as they take on this season’s surprise package Allscott Heath E in the final of the Ashton Cup.
Sitting mid-table in the new division 7, whey have used their handicap of +74 to the full to win three ties and make the prestigious showdown being so kindly hosted by Newport.
Over on the other green, and starting a little earlier, 4th division Shifnal C and Sinclair C of division 5 do battle for the Ashton Shield with both clubs enjoying super seasons and little to choose between them.
