Wrockwardine Wood and Bowring are the places to be tomorrow – Saturday 9th May – as the League hosts the 2026 Shropshire veterans inter-league championship.
And 3 Mid Shropshire teams will try to keep hold of the over-60s title and the Derek Wright Shield that goes with it.
But missing is last year’s winning A team captain Ian Evans (pictured about to receive the trophy from then County President Simon Fullard) who is unavailable.
This season’s skippers are League vice-chairman Richard Simmonds and Life Members Peter Spragg and David Evans, with 2 of the sides in action in the 2 round robin groups at Bowring that have 3 teams in each, start time being 11am.
It’s 10am off in the 4-strong group on Wrockwardine Wood No. 2, with the 6-a-side semi-finals and final to follow on Wood’s No. 1 green.
Both host clubs are putting hot and cold food so here’s hoping the weather is kind and that plenty of the League’s bowlers turn out to support the lads.
Floreat Mid Shropshire!
