Edgmond are basking in the glow of a prestigious honour as they prepare to host a big open competition to round off the bowling year.
The village club won the Best Kept Green in Shropshire award for 2024 and have now been officially presented with the trophy and cash prize.
Edgmond grenkeeper Peter Leath received them at a special presentation ceremony at the club – and has been busy ever since preparing the prized green for the start of the £1,300 Edgmond Winter Shield.
The first qualifying sessions are on Saturday 30th November at 10am and 2pm and there are spaces for 64 bowlers at £20 each to chase a £450 first prize on the finals day of Sunday 28th December
Roger Moore, head of marketing at Best Kept Green sponsors Dennis UK, is seen making the presentation to Peter Leath – their success coming 12 months after that of Trench to keep the title in Mid Shropshire!
