The League will host the 2026 Shropshire veterans inter-league championship on Saturday 9th May. And here’s the finalised plan as we look to keep hold of the Derek Wright Shield. We have a very good record in this competition and PICTURED is our 2023 winning squad.

It was made by past County President Brenda Slingo, in the presence of Rob Burroughs and Malcolm Fletcher
There were 10 entries so there will be 2 groups of 3 playing at Bowring from 11am (with Rob i/c) and 1 group of 4 with a 10am start on Wrockwardine Wood No.2 (with Malcolm i/c)
ON WROCK WOOD 2 – Mid Shropshire C (David Evans), Tanners Shropshire B, Premier Yellow, North Shropshire B
ON BOWRING 1 (old green) – Mid Shropshire A (Peter Spragg), Tanners Shropshire A, Premier Blue
On BOWRING 2 (newer green) – Mid Shropshire B (captain Rich Simmonds), Tanners Shropshire C, North Shropshire A
The SEMI-FINALS & FINAL will then be played on Wrockwardine Wood No.1, featuring the 3 group winners and the best group runners-up.
Rob explains how this will be determined by saying: “You take the best result out of the team finishing 2nd in the 4 team group. So everyone then should be on one win and it will be the best aggregate really that decides it out of those.”

Please ARRIVE 15 minutes before start time to receive League shirt, have team picture taken and for organisers do the draw.
Match order at W Wd – 1 v 2 & 3 v 4; then 1 v 3 & 2 v 4; ending with 1 v 4 & 2 v 3
Match order at Bowring – 1 v 2; then 1 v 3; ending with 2 v 3
