The first League honour of the 2026 season has already been won – and now the first fixtures of the season are just 2 sleeps away!
Action starts in the popular Afternoon Division on Thursday 2nd April with reigning champions Donnington Wood at home to Bowring A as 11 teams set out in pursuit of the 6-a-side title.
Then in the evening a full house of 14 teams begin playing 8-a-side matches in the Dennis Lewis Thursday Division – and it’s Trench who have the toughest test on opening night as they are away to Castlefields, the champs for the last 3 years.
All this comes after Shropshire senior team star Stuart Rutter won the Thursday Night Merit on 26th March, beating Josh Cotton 21-5 in the final on the bottom green at St Georges.
That added to his recent Bayley Winter Merit triumph – and two evenings later, on Saturday, Stuart’s superb pre-season burst continues as he was crowned Shifnal Spring Open champion!
