And Rob Burroughs also released the provisional dates for next year’s competitions, which are obviously subject to change in the wake of the March meeting when the divisional structures are agreed.
Before then, Shropshire checker Phil Scott will be holding a DBS appointments day on Saturday 21st February at the Sir John Bayley Cub in Wellington from 8am until as late as 6pm if required.
So anyone wanting to renew their 3-year DBS certificate clearance, or apply for one ,should book an appointment via the Mike Beckett Bowls Results website (county secretary Dawn Gray is due to contact affiliated clubs with instructions on how to go about this).
No venue has yet been revealed for the county AGM on Saturday 7th February at 11am, but it is scheduled to be in North Shropshire.
As for the MSBL, the general secretary revealed contact had been made with potential new chairman with a view to an informal chat before Christmas and reported on a successful revamped Presentation Dinner at The Shropshire last month.
And he stressed that the League will be playing a positive lead role in helping County Development Officer Pauline Wilson deliver the BCGBA’s 5-year Development Strategy, starting by urging clubs to review their constitutions to bring them up to date with modern requirements.
