Newport’s hold on the main team knockout prize for Monday division sides will be tested again this week as the League’s cup competitions come to the boil.
Having won the Ashton Cup for the last three years, Newport take on Hadley USC in this season’s semi-finals on Wednesday 20th August with a 16 shot handicap to overcome.
The other five home-five away last four tie is Much Wenlock B – runners-up in the Ashton Shield for the last 2 years – against Wrockwardine Wood C.
On the same night, the semi-finals in the consolation KO for the Ashton Shield pit Sinclair C versus Horsehay B and Donnington Wood D against Sir John Bayley C.
All players must have played 6 Mid Shropshire games to be eligible.
And it’s semi-finals time in the Harris Cup & Shield next Wednesday before the Ashton finals night on Saturday 30th August.
