Tough Month

Leaders Sinclair face a testing August in division 1 as they bid to shrug off their Shropshire Cup final disappointment.

The ambitious Ketley club entertain third placed Shifnal tomorrow – Friday the 8th – and then host main title rivals Newport on Friday 29th August.

And that should make motivating his troops easier for Sinclair skipper and Senior Merit winner Harry Church after the cup final defeat against Woore at Telepost in Shrewsbury last weekend.

They were without four-time County Merit winner Peter Farmer and managed just three winners in the 10-a-side showdown with last season’s double North Shropshire champions.

Jordon Millman won 21-11 for the Telford club but they went down by 34 shots after suffering a whitewash of the first four to be under pressure straight away.

Church said afterwards: “Well done to the Woore lads tonight – a much better team on a difficult green.”
