Martin Beddow is only the third ever Monday Night Merit champion.
The Highey stalwart raced to a 21-8 victory over Lee Taylor in the final on the evening of Saturday 19th July at Albrighton.
A crowd of approaching 100 had watched the finalists go to work from 5.30pm and more than four hours of action ended with Martin going deep intro the corners to go from 10-5 up to 18-5 against the Allscott Heath man who has just returned to the game after 8 years out.
“Thank you to Albrighton for being great hosts, and to those who measured and marked and made the finals a great success,” said organiser Rob Burroughs.
“Thank you too to everyone who entered and made it a record breaking entry for this competition.”
The finalists are pictured with their rewards, presented in the presence of League President Mike Potter
