Viv Cooper won the inaugural Mid Shropshire Ladies Merit beating Cheryl Caswell 19 in the final on a tough quick green at Sir John Bayley.
Viv was never behind after being 3-2 down, going 11-8 and 14-10 up. From 14-13 ahead she went to 19-13 in front, but Cheryl got back to 19 across. However Viv got back in and got two singles to win the trophy.
In the Semi Finals Viv had beaten Sue Connelly 11 after going 15-7 up from 7-4 down, while Cheryl defeated Alison Cotton, going 18-9 up from 9-4 down.
Well done to Viv on winning the inaugural Ladies Merit.

Quarter Finals:
Viv Cooper went 18-6 up from 8-6 ahead on Lorraine Hancock and won 10.
Sue Connelly went 11-0 up on Gill Owens and from 18-3 ahead won 9.
Alison Cotton went 11-4 up on Ann Rawlins from 5-4 ahead. Ann closed to 14-12 behind but then went 18-12 up and won 14.
Cheryl Caswell was 8-3 ahead of Claire Williams but then 10-8 down, She went 19-12 up and despite Claire getting back to 19-17 Cheryl got the two he needed.
1st Round:
Lorraine Hancock was 11-8 down to Judy Feeney but went 15-11 up and won 15.
Viv Cooper was only 11-10 up on Karen Herriman but then won 12.
Sue Connelly was 10-8 up on Georgia Rawlins and then went 18-8 ahead. Georgia closed to 20-19 but Sue got the one she needed.
Gill Owens was only 13-10 up on Val Johns but only conceded two more.
Cheryl Caswell raced 11-2 up on Gwen Whittaker and won 7.
Claire Williams from 4-1 up on Chelsie Walne went 20-1 up and won 2.
