7 teams will be looking to join Hadley USC C in the Quarter Finals of the Ashton Cup. They beat Highley by just 5 chalks, winning by 33 at home and losing by 34 away, Kath Lycett the difference after she was the only winner in the two away legs, winning 13.
Newport D continue their defence of the the trophy with a game against Division Six side Maddocks B, hoping to overcome a 28 shot handicap to do so. Two more Division Six teams look to overcome higher opposition, with St Georges C playing Division Five Charlton B and Allscott Heath E taking on Trench C. Wrockwardine Wood C meet Bowring C, with just one in the handicap, while Donnington Wood have two sides playing. Their C team play Much Wenlock B, in a repeat of the 2023 Ashton Shield Final, while their D side take on Shifnal C. Edgmond B will play last year’s runner up Allscott Heath C.
