The League’s drive to get a qualified coach at every one of its 28 member clubs is gathering pace fast.
Spearheaded by County Development Officer Pauline Wilson, the details of the Level 1 Coaching course have now been released.
The Coach Bowls course costs £150 but 50% of that is covered by a BCGBA bursary upon completion, the county association give a further £30 and the League has already announced that it too will consider applications for financial assistance from willing volunteers in need of a little extra help.
There are 4 volunteers so far, another 2 in the pipeline and Pauline is certain that the course this summer – based on line and at Shifnal BC – WILL go ahead as part of the MSBL Development initiative aimed at increasing participation in the sport and membership of clubs across the whole age range.
She said: “If you want to expand the junior or adult numbers at your club you need a coach, an interested club member who can give time to helping others into the game.”
“So if you’ve enjoyed our game and want to give something back this is your chance – by becoming a qualified coach.”
The deadline to sign up for the course is 31st May. Full course details from this link:
