Back ‘Home’

Stockton are back in the League after a five year absence.

Their return for the first time since the 2019 season was rubber stamped at the March executive meeting when the divisional set-ups for the 2025 campaign were finalised.

The village club based at Norton beside the A442 to Bridgnorth will feature in division three on Fridays alongside fellow newcomers Donnington Wood B.

There will still be 3 divisions of 12 teams on Friday nights after St Georges B and Madeley Cricket Club B both sadly withdrew.

On Mondays the fourth division will have 12 sides while divisions 5 and 6 will have 13 with Sir John Bayley E and Allscott Heath F the new recruits while Bridgnorth D pulled out. Delegates agreed that the Allscott Heath side that finished third in division 6 last year will be promoted so the club only has 2 sides in the lowest division this coming season.

Newport pulled out of the Dennis Lewis Thursday Division to leave it currently with 13 teams while Bowring B are in and Highley are out of the 9-strong Afternoon Division and Allscott B replaced Donnington Wood in a Saturday Division of 6 sides.

Match fees will rise by 10p to 70p across the board and the officers were mandated to determine the prize money based on the 60% to the League and 40% in prizes paid split that was used as the guide before the pandemic.

Entries for the Harris Cup and Ashton Cup are now being taken and the Competition Dates for 2025 were approved by the meeting.

Any late orders for SCORECARDS & CAPTAINS BOOKS need to be with the general secretary by midnight on Thursday 6th March. They will be available for collection at the April meeting. The cost of scorecards WAS £15 per 1,000 LAST YEAR and the books were £2 each.
