The League’s under-18 bowlers are ready to roll in the 2025 Shropshire junior inter-league championship tomorrow – Sunday 8th June – in Shrewsbury.
And the A team will be defending a proud record in the county association-run competition, having won the title the last 4 times it has been contested.
One of those occasions was at Old Shrewsbury – and that’s where the action is this time around, play in the 6-a-side event starting in two round robin groups using both greens from 10am.
But thanks to the efforts of selector Brenda Slingo, the League will have no less that 3 teams competing, all wearing white tee-shirts provided by sponsor Kerry Millman.
A team comprising mainly of young Sir John Bayley bowlers will be managed by James Blair and it goes without saying that the best wishes of all the League’s officers and bowlers go to the juniors with the fervent hope that they enjoy their day representing Mid Shropshire bowls.
There’s promising signs too that the League will have 2 teams in next weekend’s Shropshire veterans inter-league championship at Meole Brace so watch this space . . .
And finally, after receiving a letter of thanks for doing such a great job hosting the Senior Merit finals day, Sarah Glenholmes of Edgmond responded: “Thank you for your kind words.
“We at EBC are very proud to host these prestigious matches and we thank the MSBL for choosing our facilities.”
