After a week without Friday fixtures due to qualifying for the Senior Merit, the action in divisions 1-2-3 resumes tomorrow (9th May) with a top flight cracker.
Reigning champions Shifnal entertain arch rivals Sinclair cracker in a game that will be littered with big names.
They include four-time County Merit Peter Farmer for the visitors and Shifnal’s closed season signing, Shropshire Ladies star Sonya Lucas.
Sonya, the first woman to win the League’s first division averages in 2017 and then again 2 years later, enjoyed a winning 48 hours last weekend.
She qualified for the Senior Merit and then, at Newport on Sunday, teamed up with her partner Peter Grimston (PICTURED) to win the Dixon Driscoll Doubles (https://midshrop.co.uk/dixon-doubles-3/)
Proud organiser Rob Burroughs said: “Another great entry (for the DDD) and, combined with the Merit being up again, it’s been a very strong start to the season for Mid Shropshire competitions, with some players from teams entering for the first time.
“Thank you to all those who have entered so far, hopefully this can continue through the season.
“Next competition is the Over 60s Merit on Saturday 17th May at the Bowring at 2pm when I am hoping to match last year’s total of 31!.”
