History-making Shifnal and Newport will have the most to celebrate tomorrow – Saturday 25th January – at the League’s presentation dinner.
Bowlers, family and friends from both clubs will be out in force among the 140 booked to be at the West Stand @ TUFC in Wellington from 5.30pm.
Many will be from Shifnal, who will be saluted for winning the division one championship for the first time and also triumphing in the inaugural Harris Shield final.
Newport were the league’s top Monday night team, retaining the fourth division title and Ashton Cup, with skipper Mick Jones adding the Monday Night Merit and division four averages.
And Newport youngster Jarratt Cotterill also had a season he will never forget in League competitions.
He was part of the Mid Shropshire team that won the Shropshire junior inter-league crown again – and that trophy will be one of a number to be specially presented in recognition of major feats in 2024.
